I honestly received it and started reading it and realized it’s my perfect cookbook. ![]() It’s Vivian Howard’s new cookbook, Deep Run Roots. Let’s see how dependent I really am.’ Turns out, quite dependent! And I realized I couldn’t live a life like that, policing myself all the time. I felt like I was getting really dependent on it, so I thought, ‘Well, let me see if I can give it up. I’ve given up at sugar at a couple different points. Is there any food that you’ve had to give up cold-turkey? Something you couldn’t do anymore. If I were on death row, that’s what I would request every single day until I died, slowly, from eating potato chips. On the -ish end of the spectrum, what’s your guiltiest pleasure? But if I made them the exact same thing at home, they’d think it was disgusting. Great atmosphere, really welcoming, and the food is delicious. We live on the Upper West Side, and there’s a pretty new place called Pizzeria Sirenetta nearby. Is there a complaints box at Full Frontal, maybe with HR? “We wish Sam would not eat what she’s eating?” People had a very visceral reaction to it. I brought it to work in some Gladware and nuclear-ized it for everyone. The other day I made a coconut chickpea curry with roasted cauliflower. We all sort of joked about how smelly my lunches are, but now it’s just sort of quiet when I microwave my lunch. To me, a really delicious sugary treat is my version of pure joy.Įverything I love is kinda smelly. I just happened to be in the neighborhood and I love those things so much that I just wanted to share them with the world. The other day I brought two Lady M cakes to work. We certainly have our fair share of unhealthy snacks at Full Frontal, and I don’t really help that, because I love treats. I can’t speak for everyone else, because everyone has their own way of doing things. How’s the food on set at Full Frontal ? The stereotypical idea of writers’ room is full of junk food.
